The mechanical part that moves down and springs back up. Usually made from plastic or metal and is X shaped.

The rubber cone shaped spring that is connected to the keyboard. This pushes the key cap back up once it has been pressed.

To extract a key cap, a "puller" is used to grab underneath and extract it. |
